The weather is changing, and we have compiled Ten Fall/Winter skincare tips to add to your skincare ritual. Colder weather is known for drying your skin out quicker as there is less moisture in the air and your body has to work harder to heal damaged skin. With the skin being drier comes flaking, blemishes, and more skin sensitivity. Having the right ritual during this time of year can keep your skin from getting tired and maintaining its healthy glow.
In this post, we will discuss Ten Fall/Winter skincare tips by From Plants Beauty.
Try using an oil-based face cleanser.
Oil-based cleansers are perfect for maintaining proper oil levels on your skin. They help to prevent your skin from getting overly dry after washing. You might notice your skin starts feeling a lot smoother after washing. This is because your skin's natural oils aren't all getting stripped away as a traditional cleanser will do.
Incorporate a facial oil into your skincare routine.
Face oils are an effective way of locking in moisture and protecting your skin from free radicals. Using a natural, 100% organic oil like FROM PLANTS BEAUTY Oh My Glow organic facial oil for both day and night routine will help your skin staying hydrated and supple during the cold weather.
Use a facial roller.
Face rollers are great in sealing in product and tightening pores.
Crystal Clear Quartz Roller by FROM PLANTS BEAUTY is made with 100% natural clear quartz, powerful healing properties, with a dual-ended roller, polished and studded end. It aims to stimulate cell repair, help contour, depuff, improve skin elasticity, fade stretch marks, diminishes acne scars, and seals in skincare products. Great for face and body use.
✩ Smooth End helps to soothe, tighten, improve blood circulation, and encourage lymphatic function.
✩ Studded End helps improve the absorption of skincare products, reduce puffiness, the appearance of fine lines, and improve skin elasticity and uneven complexion without damaging your skin.

Drink more water.
You would think drinking more water would only be associated with the warm weather in summer. With winter brings in drier, more crisp weather, staying hydrated is vital for your skin to maintain proper moisture levels.
Avoid alcohol-based products.
Alcohol is a harsh astringent that purposely drys out the skin. Try to take these types of products out of your skincare routine during the colder season, or altogether, to avoid improper balance of moisture levels and skin irritations.
Avoid chlorine pools and jacuzzi.
Chlorinated water is the worst for your skin. It damages the epidermis with all the chemicals in it, but it drys your skin even more by stripping away moisture for its cells.
The best alternative would be saltwater pool systems. The natural saltwater pool has been shown to have beneficial properties for your skin. "Magnesium, calcium, and potassium are all skin-friendly minerals that can be found in sea salt". It nourishes the cells by fighting off skin infections, aids in healing the skin, and prevents acne-causing bacteria.
Don't take hot showers.
Try avoiding hot showers for too long as this will open up your pores and release more moisture from your body. Also, if you don't have a filtered water system in your home, city tap water is incredibly high in calcium, magnesium, and iron, all of which in high levels are damaging to your skin.
Your skin's pH level naturally stays around five, but average tap water is 7! If too high, the constant increase in ph of your skin during cleansing can cause dryness, breakouts, and skin irritation.
Take baths with oils.
Adding a few drops of your favorite facial or body oils (Jo Jo Joy) to a warm bath is a great way to nourish your skin. The Oh My Glow facial oil and Jo Jo Joy body oil will make you turn your next bath into a spa. The unique aroma of our facial oil and skin healing benefits of our body oil make for a proper soak. Oils provide many skincare benefits and help to lock in moisture.
Put on lotion right after taking a Shower.
After taking a shower, your pores are naturally open as you have just cleaned them. Applying a moisturizer while your pores are open will allow for more water to enter your skin and keep it hydrated.
Moisturizer is key!
Whenever you feel your skin is becoming dry, itchy, or flaking, apply moisturizer. Keep a small bottle with you at all times, as you might find yourself needing to spot treat areas during the day.
We hope this post about the Fall/Winter Skincare ritual will help you keep your skin healthy and radiant.
